J.J. Abrams & The Mystery Box
Time and time again I’m finding that something I love has J.J. Abrams name attached to it (Lost, Mission Impossible III, and now Cloverfield). Until now, I had never seen him interviewed and knew very little about him.
Abrams spoke at the TED Conference (Technology, Entartainment, Design) way back in March of 2007 and now, via the TED Talks podcast (both audio and video) as well as streaming video on their site, this talk is available for all to see.
I highly recommend watching this 18 minute video in which J.J. reveals some of the creative process behind his work and specifically refers to The Mystery Box — a “magic mystery box” in which he illustrates the magic behind the mystery of great film.
