A New Standard
Yesterday it was announced by the Microsoft team that, after meeting with the Firefox team, Internet Explorer will be adopting the standard Firefox RSS icon in IE7, helping to create a standard icon across the industry rather than one that competes. This is great news for RSS technology in breaking into the mainstream! I’ve already updated Echo Faith with the RSS icon to help its trek in becoming a standard.
The Microsoft team had been deliberating and attempting to narrow down their icon choices and mostly had just known that it would be orange when they surprised the community with adopting a Firefox standard.
Kudos to the Microsoft team for making this bold move!
